The World’s Fair Supply began in 2014 out of my dorm room after researching the art direction of old World’s Fairs. This included the range of postcards, branding, pennants and architecture unique to each exhibition.

Perhaps, my favorite World’s Fair of all-time has been on the one from 1967 in Montreal, Quebec.

Originally inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s book, Man and His World, the theme of the exhibition surrounded the earliest drawings of man.

Everything about it to me was unique. The snowflake branding, the geodome designed by Buckminster Fuller. There was also a large emphasis on the art/sculpture exhibitions there were being held there which also attracted me. I have always loved exhibition posters and shirts because of my father who collected them. It is something that was inherently passed down to me.

What’s interesting is that the branding of the snowflake by Julien Hébert was notoriously panned by critics when first released and was considered too modern for that time period.

Expo 67 ended up being considered the most successful World’s Fair of the 20th century and is universally admired by Canada.

In college, I began collecting artifacts from this World’s Fair including: cups, pennants and posters.

Out of the poster set below, I have the one of the father and the daughter. Hopefully when I get my bread up, I will be able to collect them all.
